  1. Oh and btw…..what subscriber benefits would you leave in the game at this point? I agree that ftpers should be able to queue for ranked (team ranked specifically) but am curious what specific systems you would leave for subs only. Bear in mind of course that too liberal a restriction set would diminish the number of people that would themselves feel justified in maintaining a subscription.

    • I like the pass system. I don’t think F2Pers should get full access to everything, the should have to pay ala carte for the things they want to do for a limited time. Subs get everything free all the time while F2Pers need to pay to do ops for a week, pay to do ranked for a week etc. I think its worked for ops so far, I don’t think there is a large set of raiders that unsubbed because they can just purchase the passes. Subs also get the cartel coin stipend each much which is a subsidy to the sub. I think giving F2Pers a easier time getting into ranked, or making their experience feel less restrictive will increase the number of F2Pers that stick around without losing that many subs.

  2. GT, Here’s the real reason F2Pers can’t do ranked:
ANYONE could make a F2P account and use it to lose matches for their main. Giving F2Pers ranked access would make it ten times harder for GM’s to track ranked abuse, because so many more people would be doing it, thus making ranked even more of a joke than it already is.

    • If that’s their reasoning then they should come out and say it. And I don’t think that F2Pers should have access to ranked for free, they should have to buy passes just like they do for ops. If someone wanted to multibox to chat they can already do that at a cost. I don’t think that changing the F2P model will cause a dramatic uptick in match fixing.
